Onewheel Backpack Point 65 Boblbee

For anyone commuting with a Onewheel, you need a good backpack to keep your gear on your way to work. As I ride with my laptop in the backpack it’s important that it’s protected in case of a fall.

The best backpack to both protect your laptop and your back in case of a fall is the Point 65 Boblbee. It’s a hard case backpack both protecting the gear inside and with CE-Level 2 back protection.

I ride either with my Onewheel Pint if the weather is nice or my Xiaomi m365 to work every day. I commute with a PEV even during the winter and snowy roads, that’s why I decided to get the best backpack on the market.

Point 65 Boblbee Review

The Point 65 Boblbee GT/GTX is a well know backpack in the motorcycle community. The reason is for the CE-Level 2 back protection in combination with the hard shell protection. Even if I ride my Onewheel at a much lower speed there is an overhanging risk of a nosedive slamming me and my backpack into the ground.

It’s a great backpack for the commute to work and love the protection for me and my gear. I haven’t had the need to test the impact resistance of the pack, but from reading online it delivers on the statement and I will update if I ever take a fall on my way to and from work.

The bag by itself is very light and sits nicely on the back during the ride. The shell makes the construction stable even if you don’t have much gear inside it, in contrast to a normal backpack.

It has a belt and chest strap to stabilize and follows your back perfectly. As it’s designed for motorcycles the aerodynamics are great and doesn’t catch air during the ride whether empty or full. Even packed to the rim it’s still comfortable to carry. If you can travel light it fits easily in the overhead of a plane for an overnight business trip.

Laptop Point 65 Boblbee

When it comes to storing gear the pack has a dedicated laptop pocket that easily fits my 15” laptop. There is an additional inside pocket that holds my battery air pump, Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor, charger, headphones, mouse, and other things that I bring to and from work. I decided to get the cargo net to have somewhere to palace my rain pants. The net is a bit pricey but it the well designed and something I recommend buying if you need to carry wet gear/helmet or just need the additional storage.

I commute in any weather and It has held up to the rain without getting my gear or laptop wet. According to the manufacturer, it’s not waterproof, so use it at your own risk.

The hard shell is CE-Level 2 for spine protection and is comforting while riding every day to work knowing my back and gear are covered. At first, I was a bit skeptical about the lid, but after using it over the years I come to like the ability to hook and unhook it. It’s simple to operate and just push down or grab my rain pants in the net when I need to without opening the backpack.

The style is not for everyone but one thing is for sure, you will get attention from people who want to know about it. Always fun to explain the back protection it gives and the stylish features it has.
