Onewheel application alternative

Do you want to have an alternative to the official Onewheel application or want to add some new features is a good idea to look into the other solutions that are developed by the community. These alternatives add good features like battery health monitoring or the battery percentage displayed on your wristwatch.

Please Note: that none of these is the official Onewheel app. They are not endorsed, supported, or affiliated with Future Motion in any way. Use at your own risk.

Onewheel Community Edition OWCE

This is the latest application for the Onewheel that’s built by the community, it’s still in beta and early access but works really well. It combines features from most of the now-discontinued apps and into a newly updated application.

It has features like a simple interface, customizable layout, advanced features like reading individual cell battery voltage, and additional notifications and triggers for improved safety mechanisms.

Reading the cell voltages is an important metric to understand the status of your battery pack.

It’s fully open source for developers to contribute to so if you want to help or just send a bug report go over to GIT. https://github.com/OnewheelCommunityEdition/OWCE_App

Discontinued applications

OneWave Pro

Compatible models: ☑ Onewheel V1 ☑ Onewheel+ ☑ Onewheel+ XR ☑ Onewheel Pint
Status: Discontinued (2019)

OneWave Pro

This app allows you to connect like the official app via Bluetooth to your Onewheel. It displays current stats, such as speed and battery, cell voltages, watt usage, and more, both in widgets, notifications, or in the app.

It has a good settings page where you can customize the notifications like adding speed warnings (try not to nosedive), charge alerts, battery low, and others like turnaround notifications.

If you get the Pro version of the app it includes Dark Mode, more widgets with more customization, and a Trip Logging mode that shows everywhere you have explored!

The app is now discontinued – be careful out there, and use it at your own risk.

POWheel

Compatible models: ☑ Onewheel V1 ☑ Onewheel+ ☑ Onewheel+ XR ☑ Onewheel Pint
Status: Discontinued (2019)

POWheel

POWheel adds a lot of extended and hidden stats and features to your OneWheel. The key is that the program can log these stats so you can figure out where exactly things go wrong and cause you to nosedive.

This app logs all these stats and also shows footpads that are activated, lifetime miles on your OneWheel, trip top speed, and more.

Other nice-to-have features and customizations are power settings like setting the OneWheel LED front/backlights and brightness. It can trigger notifications and vibrations based on battery levels.
