If you want to change the stance and feel of the board then changing the footpads is one of the best and easiest things to do. The high kicktail footpad to the Onewheel Pint / Pint X gives you a more aggressive curve on the back that provides you with a more natural stance and a more locked-in feeling while riding.

Compared to the standard footpad the Pint High Kick footpad features a substantial kicktail. The shape gives a better stance and many riders feel less foot fatigue.
There are no real drawbacks, it will come down to personal preferences if you like the shape of the pad or not. The aftermarket and third-party manufacturers have produced these types of footpads for years for the Pint, this is a welcome addition to the community if you want to ride a fully Future Motion equipped board.

As an independent rider, I recommend you also look into the alternatives.

Compatibility

  • Onewheel Pint
  • Onewheel Pint X

The footpads are fully compatible with both the Pint and Pint X as both boards use the same platform. The main difference is the extended battery compartment of the X giving the increased range.

There is no need for any additional tools as the Footpads come with both a wrench and all the screws you need for the installation.

I absolutely LOVE my Pint High Kick Footpad! After installing it I went on and I completely drained the battery on my PintX at about 12 miles. I don’t usually ride this far due to foot fatigue. This really helped me ride longer and also gives a more locked in feel during the ride to carve it up. I hope that they make a Surestance version of this a t some point. It is great. Get one!!!

Price

The price of the footpad is $90. This can be considered a standard price of a custom footpad and is in range of the offerings from other companies like Float-Life and Craft&Ride.

You can get them from their official site or order them from your local Future Motion-associated dealer.

Alternatives

There are a couple of third-party manufacturers out there delivering custom footpads for the Pint/Pint X, companies like the Float-Life and the Craft&Ride

Conclusion

Many rides swear by getting a higher back footpad, especially if you are riding trails. If a concave option is not something for you then Pint (X) High Kick Footpad might be a good option. Keeping the flat profile but with an increased back-kick to create the locked-in feeling while shredding down the trail or jumping over roots.

The benefits of less foot fatigue will be the selling point for many riders, now you can drain the battery of your Onewheel Pint X if you like without needing to stop every other mile.

As always, it comes down to your personal preferences and I recommend you to, if possible, try and find a fellow rider that has a board with a footpad that you can try.
