Many riders want to show their personal image and decorate/modify the board to their liking. With custom rails not only are you riding a custom board but depending on the rails there are some added benefits to the riding experience. This post goes over some of the most popular Onewheel aftermarket rails on the market.
Depending on the custom rails they will allow better off-road performance, changing the center of gravity, better street riding, or just more clearance for jumping bigger curbs and obstacles.
Many third-party companies are coming into the custom rail market and also new specialized manufacturers are entering the field.
Most rails are developed for the now discontinued Onewheel XR. Still, a modded XR is still a good catch if you get one.
TailRails (7 Second Rails)

The TailRails or what they call “Seven Second Rails” is a collaboration between FlightFins and Badgerwheel, two well know companies in the community. Seven seconds comes from that both Brenden Schurmeier and Kyle Hanson crushed their top times by seven seconds on the highly competitive Whoops trail in Los Angeles.
According to the companies, these rails are built for speed and downhill. There are both rail options for the XR and the Pint (shorter version).
Key features of the TailRails:
- Bomb technical or steep downhill with confidence that your tail has additional clearance and will avoid scrapes that lose you speed and control
- Ride in Mission for a classic feel with more leverage, or use custom settings to lift the front slightly to create a more locked-in feeling
- FlightFenders fit with no modification
- You can switch the board direction for extreme hill climbs without using Elevated.
- Easily tighten your inner hub bolts through the center hole with the included ball end wrench, or add BadgerBite hub locker and never worry about inner hub bolts again.
- Enough clearance to ride out Captain Morgans up to 150% longer after a day of trail busting

Homebrew WTF (Wow They’re Fast)

The WTF rails are built for speed with some key features that transform the ride.
In 2021 Onewheel racing rider Austen Silva and Bodhi Harrison both won their qualifiers with these rails on their Onewheels.
The rails have a distinguished shape with a bent design. The Homebrew WTF Rails are specifically designed for trail riding. They set your weight at a lower center of gravity for an insane increase in stability without any loss in clearance!
The upward angle under the footpads decreases the angle of approach while increasing foot grip for a safer and more secure ride. Dig deep into those turns, cut speed wobble, and stomp those big landing clean with the new Homebrew WTF Rails.
