The Normal Warranty For Oura Ring
The warranty depends on if you’re located in the United States, the European Union, or the rest of the world, or if you have a Generation 2 Oura Ring.
United States
- The current generation 3 Oura Rings has a limited warranty period of one year, starting from the date of your original purchase.
- The period can be extended if you have received a replacement ring before the one-year mark is reached. The replacement ring comes with a 90 days warranty that can extend passed the original two-year period.
European Union (EU), the rest of the world or Generation 2
- The Generation 2 Oura Ring, or if you are located in the European Union (EU) or the rest of the world, the Oura Ring has a limited warranty period of two years, starting from the date of your original purchase.
- The period can be extended if you have received a replacement ring before the one-year mark is reached. The replacement ring comes with a 90 days warranty that can extend passed the original two-year period.
Battery Warranty
Keep in mind that the warranty will not cover consumable parts like the battery inside the ring, therefore it’s recommended to follow these tips on how to charge the battery to keep the battery in a good shape. If not it will drastically wear out faster and impact the usability of the ring.
…This limited warranty does not apply to (i) normal wear and tear, including scratches and dents; (ii) consumable parts included in the Product, such as batteries…
Buying From a 3rd Party
It’s recommended to buy the Oura Ring from an authorized seller. Even if it could be discussed if it is allowed to limit the warranty for 3rd party resellers, the terms of use state that the warranty is only applicable to the original end user purchaser. This is why you shouldn’t buy rings from 3rd party sites like eBay or Amazon.
“NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, OURA WARRANTS TO THE ORIGINAL END USER PURCHASER THAT THE PRODUCT IS FREE FROM DEFECTS IN MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP FOR ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. If your local law in effect at the time of purchase requires a warranty period longer than one (1) year, this warranty shall be extended to the extent required by such law. Within the warranty period, Oura shall repair or replace at no charge to you any components of the Product that fail the limited warranty provided. You shall be responsible for any related transportation charges. Replacement products may be new or refurbished at our discretion. “
Wear and Tear
The warranty doesn’t apply to normal wear and tear, scratches, or dents on your ring. The risk of a dent is low, scratches are something you will get, and it’s only a matter of time. That’s why we recommended you not wear it on your dominant hand. This will drastically reduce the risk of scratches on your new ring. It’s also a good idea to think about what color you are getting, as the ring is made out of a titanium cover with a Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating if you decide to get any of the colored versions. The coating is resistant to scratches, but it will over time get one and the metal will be reviled underneath.
Are you afraid of scratches, get the silver version, it will not be as polished as it comes but build a nice patina of small scratches. You can always get some polishing and polish the scratches away if you want down the line. Read this to get more information about polishing your Oura Ring.
“This limited warranty does not apply to (i) normal wear and tear, including scratches and dents; (ii) consumable parts included in the Product, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (iii) damage resulting from your failure to use the Product in accordance with the instructions accompanying the Ōura Product or available at the website; (iv) damage resulting from an accident, flood, fire, misuse, or abuse; (v) damage resulting from service performed, or damage resulting from tampering with or alterations to the Product, by anyone not authorized by Ōura; or (vi) use of the Product with any application or software other than the Mobile App.”

Need to Use Your Warranty Claim
Oura got the right to decide if they are going to repair the product, replace or offer a full refund. Most people that have needed to use their claim have got a new ring. This was also what the author got when turning in his Gen 2 after having problems with it. The process was smooth and there were no hiccups during the claim. The team will look into the device data to try and see if the ring is behaving differently. In this case, the battery was draining faster than expected.
“After reviewing your Oura Ring’s data, it does look like your ring’s battery drains faster than expected. Due to this, I’ve gone ahead and forwarded your case to warranty handling.”
During the process you will need to confirm the following information:
- Recipient Name for Replacement
- Your current shipping address
- Phone number
- Order number for the ring/charger experiencing an issue (found in the order confirmation email)
- The model and size of your ring
How Long Time Does It Take To Receive The Warranty Replacement?
Usually, it will take approximately 5-7 business days after your warranty case is approved for you to get your replacement ring. Once the ring is shipped, the Oura team will send out the tracking details for your shipment.
Do I need to send the ring back?
