The right to repair and counter measurements deployed by Future Motion Inc has made them target for lawfirms and people investigating them. Right to repair lobbyists are picking up the fight next to bigger firms.

Future Motion Inc did respond to some of the customer complaints and lobbyists questions in a public statement on YouTube. Still there are some open points that are not addressed and statements that goes against what they have done before.
One of the law firms, the Law Offices of Connor W. Olson, have started a investigating potential claims for violations of California and Federal law against Future Motion, Inc.
The Investigation concerns reports that Future Motion, Inc., prohibits consumers from modifying, altering, and/or repairing their Onewheel GTs through the installation of electronic and physical countermeasures, limitations on written warranties, and the unavailability of repair parts, schematics, and authorized repair facilities. The investigation also includes claims that Future Motion, Inc., failed to advertise these countermeasures and limitations prior to consumers purchasing their Onewheel GTs.
The Onewheel GT is most likely a response to the lawsuits against Future Motion Inc regarding the lack of safety of the Onewheel XR.
Future Motion Inc, the manufacturer of the personal electric vehicle Onewheel are based out of California and therefore are operating under California and Federal law.
